The Toyota Industries GL3, built half a century ago,
was one of Japan's earliest power looms, and as there are no replacement parts, the only way to maintain it is to retrieve and replace parts from discarded machines of the same model . Maintenance is time-consuming, and the GL3 is an inefficient loom that can only weave five meters per hour. However, denim woven on the GL3 retains the ruggedness and roughness of denim from half a century ago, making it a one-of-a-kind loom capable of expressing denim for workwear.
