Founded in 1937, PF Flyers is a pioneer of American sneakers, nicknamed "magic shoes" because it featured the Posture Foundation insole developed by a tire manufacturer. The base model for this release, the GROUNDER HI, has its roots in military shoes issued to the U.S. Army in the 1940s and is a representative model of the brand, born in 1948 as a civilian model.

The GROUNDER BOOT retains the original classic look while adding a voluminous and rugged feel reminiscent of military boots. The upper uses BEAMS PLUS's original back satin chino cloth, which is spun from thick cotton single yarn with uneven texture from the yarn stage. By unifying the upper, sole, and shoelaces in the same color to create a tonal finish, it achieves a balance between a tough, military-derived impression and a modern look.

The sole, which supports your feet, has also been updated specifically for this model. A new thick sole with deeper lugs than usual has been developed, taking into consideration walking on rough terrain. Furthermore, the mudguard, which is a rubber part that protects against mud, has been raised to a higher position, creating a powerful, boot-like silhouette. In addition to waxed flat laces in the same color as the main body, "tiger laces" that emphasize the military feel are also included.
