The fabric used is a cotton-linen canvas material. By carefully washing it
for a long time in a special washing machine , a natural wrinkled texture is brought out, resulting in a worn-in look and a soft , light feel against the skin.
The dyeing process:
utilizes "Amami Mud Dyeing," a traditional dyeing method passed down in Amami Oshima for centuries. Using dye from the Techi tree (Rhaphiolepis indica) native to the island, and iron-rich mud derived from geological layers over 1.5 million years old , each garment is carefully dyed using the power of nature. The resulting colors are characterized by a depth and warmth that cannot be replicated with artificial dyes . Natural nut buttons are used for the garments.
