The "Ishikawadai" is a Japanese-made ring spinning machine
manufactured in 1953 by Ishikawa Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
Although the manufacturer has no records, it is believed to be one of the oldest spinning machines still in operation in Japan . Compared to the latest ring spinning machines, its speed is about one-third as slow, and its productivity is not particularly high. However, because it puts less stress on the cotton, it can preserve the cotton's natural softness and gentle texture, creating a natural look that cannot be replicated by computers, and an unevenness that is almost like hand-spun yarn.
